This research finding sounds a little crazy. Eating three bananas cuts your
risk of a stroke, scientists say. Having a banana each for breakfast, lunch and
dinner would provide enough potassium to reduce the chances of suffering a
blood clot on the brain by around 21 per cent.
In the UK the average daily potassium intake is around 1,600 milligrams,
less than the recommended 3,500mg. The average banana contains around 500 milligrams
of potassium.
Eating three bananas a day sounds fun but bananas also contain sugar so it’s
a balancing act I guess.
I'm going to have to ramp up my banana intake. I consider it a good day if I have just one! xx
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
DeleteIt sounds a lot! Unless one eats only bananas (it reminds me some crazy teenage diets with only one fruit or vegetable all week... I have never tried one myself, but remember it was popular then).
ReplyDeleteIt does sounds like a lot, and this is something I would not follow myself. I have never heard of that crazy diet, that sounds worse than the 3 banana diet!
Deletehmmm, 3 bananas a day... will small ones count? :P
ReplyDeleteNo, had to be the biggest bananas:)
DeleteYes - balancing is the key.
ReplyDeleteAs always
Delete3 bananas a day? Not a problem!
ReplyDeleteGood to know
DeleteI think one could definitely get caught up in all of these research findings but it's hard to know which one to listen to (and they're often funded by the bodies that promote a certain item).
ReplyDeleteDefinitely true. 3 cookies a day is something I could be inclined to believe
DeleteI use bananas for potassium but less to prevent strokes as to stop cramps in my legs. Magical fruit! :P
ReplyDeleteThey are multipurpose!
DeleteWow that Foie gras plate is an eye candy
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is
DeleteI try to eat one banana a day…high in potassium and so delicious! I don’t think I could do three!
ReplyDeleteYou are almost there, should be good enough!
Delete3? I can barely eat 1. I would rather have them in something. Ohh- does banana bread count? I could eat three slices of that a day! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI am sure it counts:)
Delete3 bananas!!! oh my goodness - and I like bananas - but 3!!
ReplyDeleteMary x
It is a bit demanding for sure
Delete3 BIG bananas? Maybe it is good to eat that and skip lunch then. A good way to diet. Prevent stroke? mmm... Not so sure about that. LOL BTW, I came here to look for your Macaroons, I can't find the search button:(
