Potato, chickpea and vegetable salad with tomato mustard dressing |
Breakfast: Missed
Lunch: Potato, chickpea and vegetable salad with tomato mustard dressing
Dinner: Flax seed sourdough
Baking/sweets: Flax seed sourdough, polenta coconut chocolate cookies, crispy coconut cookies
I ate quite a few cookies today, and all because of convenience. The crispy coconut cookies were made using frozen dough. It requires no defrosting, unfortunately far too convenient. And the polenta coconut chocolate cookies is far too easy to prepare. Preparation takes a few minutes literally, then about 10 minutes in the oven. Its quicker than going to the supermarket to purchase cookies.
After the above-average cookie consumption I went for a relatively long run. It certainly made me feel better, mentally and physically. I now almost feel that the cookie consumption was justified.

You are probably wondering what the heck is economist doing here. The article titled “Fail often, fail well” has absolutely nothing to do with food. Failures in management is discussed but the same lessons can be applied to cooking, and life in general. Did you know that "Thomas Edison performed 9,000 experiments before coming up with a successful version of the light bulb".
So if the cake you baked is as flat as flat bread and the cookies almost break your teeth, keep trying. Hopefully you don't need to try 9,000 times before producing the perfect cookie. The main downside to this valuable lesson is that even bad cookies and cakes can taste delicious. Too many failures means more to be consumed because throwing away is not good practice.
Gorgeous! That pizza looks just incredobly scrumptious.

I've been trying really hard lately not to feel guilty about eating treats. Cause you know what happens when I feel guilty? I just feel compelled to eat more. It's a vicious cycle. :P
