Chocolate Oats
Today's Food Diary
Breakfast: Rolled oats with apple butter
Lunch: Leftover Spiced fried potato and meatballs
Dinner:  Macaroni, lentil and mixed vege soup
Dessert: Oats with milk and date, chocolate oats with milk

Oats is more of a breakfast item but sometimes for dessert I cook oats with milk and sweeten it. I find it quite warming and satisfying on cold winter nights. Nuts and dried fruits can be added as well. Remember not to eat too much sugar before bedtime:)

Random Ramblings
Does food blogging affect what you eat? Today I was thinking about this issue. I’ve read blogs where the blogger would go out and have a meal so that there is something to blog about. I am new to food blogging and so far it has had little effect but I can foresee that it can potentially have a much greater effect. The meals I had today were not really worth taking photos of – lunch was leftover from yesterday and dinner was a simple soup. I thought what else I could have eaten even though I was perfectly satisfied with today's meals. Does this happen to you?

Today's Favourite Blog
Ang Sarap presents a recipe for braised pork hock (knuckle) using oyster sauce. Braised pork knuckle is one of my favourite dishes and I usually braise with soya sauce, kecap manis if available and little bit of sugar. Rice wine vinegar would be good too. Oyster sauce is definitely an interesting alternative worth trying.

  1. You raised an issue I never thought of before. Yes I know realise blogging sometimes has influence on what I ate. Given the choice I would eat and blog about a meal/venue that is more photogenic and which my readers will appreciate more...hopefully I will enjoy eating-:)
