Pasta with eggplant in blue cheese sauce |
Breakfast: Missed
Dinner: Rolled oats with raisins, banana, coconut and linseeds
Baking/sweets: ice cream
The pasta I had for lunch was made using a really really simple recipe that required little preparation and attention during cooking. It was a one pot dish, even the pasta did not need to be cooked separately. The meal was ready in under 20 minutes, including preparation time. The recipe is available here.

Care2 has 5 tips to add years to your life. The list has some of the expected culprits such as exercise and lose weight. Maintaining a BMI between 25 to 35 can add up to 3 years to your expiration date.
Eat salad because Italian scientists have discovered that eating as little as 1 cup of raw vegetables daily adds 2 years to your life. Raw vegetables have more antioxidants.
Those who eat nuts 5 days a week added 3 years. If you are at the pub, order nuts with your drinks. This may counter the potential reduction in life expectancy due to excess alcohol consumption, maybe! Talking about nuts, my favourite photo today features a peanutty cake and doctors do recommend eating more nuts. I am certainly not making any suggestions!
Have a positive outlook to life after retirement. Those who do prolong their retirement by an additional 7 years.
And finally the most interesting and unusual one. Those with the largest network of friends added up to 7 years to their life. Seven years is a lot, long enough to make it worthwhile making more friends. And I don't think having many facebook contacts helps. If you need an extra friend, and I certainly do, feel free to contact me for the sake of an extra 7 years!
