Extreme love for meatball sandwiches

Chorizo and bell pepper with rice
Food Diary (November 02, 2011)
Breakfast: Sourdough toast
Lunch: Chorizo and bell pepper with rice
Dinner: Rolled oats with coconut, sunflower seeds and Flax seeds
Baking/sweets: No bake chocolate coconut oat squares (small amount!)

I probably had a slight overdose of rolled oats this evening, having it for dinner as well as dessert.

Meatball sandwiches are nice, I like them, though I wouldn’t go to the extent of robbing someone of his sandwich at gunpoint. For me that’s a step too far but not for two men in Pennsylvania. They took a teenager’s meatball sandwich at gunpoint. They didn't take his cell phone though. A cell phone is probably worth more than a meatball sandwich but the two robbers had their own priorities.

The men were caught and the sandwich recovered. I don’t know if the sandwich was returned to the rightful owner. This is one of the rare instances where you probably don’t want your stolen property to be returned to you.

The men are being held on $150,000 bail. What a wasted effort, they should have at least shown the sandwich some respect by eating it.

  5. Hold the fort. That rice looks amazing! I rarely eat chorizo, not too sure why, but I do really like it. I'd enjoy it even more if it's prepared like this, though.

  7. Hilarious! I must taste one day a meatball sandwich to understand such a behaviour. (I have never had any).
Oats are very healthy, so your overdose is not dangerous (I cannot say this about mine: today I had really too much French crusty and crunchy baguette...).

  8. ping: its difficult to tell from the article what their motives were, if they were really hungry they would have eaten the sandwich and I don’t think it was a prank. Perhaps sheer stupidity. You want me to answer your question about overdose of oats:)

  9. Kind of sad that they got arrested over meatball sandwich. I wonder if there are any detail stories behind this or simply they were just too hungry and too crazy to commit this crime. Was something hidden in meatball sandwich? Love your chorizo bell pepper rice!
