Cake ball cake and kolbász

Hungarian sausage (kolbász) with rice
Food Diary (August 03, 2011)
Breakfast: Missed
Lunch: Hungarian sausage (kolbász) with rice
Dinner: Sourdough with sauerkraut, pickled herring
Baking/sweets:

My body clock has done a somersault. Today I got out of bed just before 12 noon, however I did go to bed really late. What better way to kick start the day than to have spicy kolbász, with extra chilies. The spiciness makes you jump and gets the metabolism going.

Not all eggs are created equal. There is controversy whether eggs are healthy or a high-cholesterol trap.  The answer depends on what the hen eats, says Dr. Niva Shapira of Tel Aviv University's School of Health Professions.

Dr. Shapira’s research indicates that when hens are fed with a diet low in omega-6 fatty acids from a young age, they produce eggs that may cause less oxidative damage to human health. A diet low in omega-6 fatty acids includes wheat, barley, and milo and lower in soy, maize and sunflower, safflower, and maize oils.

Healthier eggs obviously cost more. Feed high in omega-6 fatty acids, such as maize, soy, and their oils, are much cheaper. If you want to know whether the eggs you are eating are healthier or not you have to find out what the hen had been eating. I am guessing organic eggs would be better for you. It also depends where the hens were raised. "European" hens dine less on corn and soy unlike their North American cousins. So my guess is that generally speaking "European eggs" are probably healthier.
